The Importance of Allowing

What if I told you that Healers don’t actually heal others? Does that sound crazy to you? I’ll admit it is a bit paradoxical, but the principle that Healers do not Heal is vitally important to any modality of healing.

It is no one’s job to heal another person. Even if we desperately want to heal someone of their ailments, or fix their problems, we do not have that power. It is not possible to heal anyone but yourself, and as a Healer one must honor that fact. Our clients heal themselves. Their bodies, and their Souls are responsible for their own healing. Healers do not Heal. Healers hold Space.

A healer is simply a being who holds the Energy, and the Belief that any person is capable of being in a state of Balance, Wholeness, and Well-Being at any given time. It is up to each individual Soul to chose, open, and receive their own innate healing abilities and guidance. Healers hold space for the client to heal their own being.

So where does Allowance come into play? Well, the Healer doesn't Heal paradox simply is a reminder to drop our egos. When we are giving Reiki it is important to remember to detach our conscious mind from any specific outcomes or expectations. We simply hold the intention that Reiki is working for our client’s Best and Highest Good and then ALLOW that Grace, that lovely Reiki, Divine Love to pour THROUGH-- into the space we are holding for another. The more we detach our egos, the better a channel for Grace we become.

In a way, this should empower us to be fearless in healing. Take the responsibility of “fixing” somebody out of the equation, and being a Reiki Practitioner takes on a whole new light. Embodying a level of ease, and feasibility.

There is also a state of allowance that those receiving must adopt. We can only help someone as much as they ALLOW themselves healing, and we must honor that. Each being you encounter will be at a different point in their spiritual journey. If their Beingness is not in a state of allowance to that which makes them Divine, then our healing practices may not be as effective; or perhaps, a healer may have better alignment with one Soul over another. And that is perfectly fine. We can’t fix anybody, but we can always hold space for those willing to fix themselves.

We must never let go of the belief that all beings are already perfect. Including ourselves. We are all already Divine. Wellness is our natural state of being, and is always available to us. The key is ALLOWING. Allow that perfection, that Divine Light of your Soul to flow through you and reap the benefits of this RECEPTIVITY.

Affirmations are a great way to shift ourselves into a state of allowance. Since Aries Season is upon us, I wanted to highlight the power of using “I AM” mantras. I AM relates to the Aries Zodiac sign because Aries energy is all about self-actualization. “I AM” is the perfect way to channel Aries energy -- the energy of self- creation, self-definition, and self-belief. When we say “I AM”, we are inviting Divine Creativity into our space. The Universe takes a special liking to “I AM” affirmations. The inner-God, inner-Source, expresses and creates our reality when we say “I AM.” The syllables are almost the same as the three part “OM” or “AUM” mantra. The power to define who we are is greatly enhanced in the space created by “I AM.”

Here are some mantras to embody Wellness, Reiki, and Health I like to use as often as I remember:

  • I AM a Divine Master Being

  • I AM fully Healthy, now.

  • I AM receptive to Unconditional Health, now.

  • I AM functioning perfectly; inhaling vitality, now.

  • I AM ALLOWING

  • Reiki is Healing

  • I AM Surrendering

  • I AM Balanced

  • I AM Trusting

  • I AM Protected

Feel free to make up your own affirmations, and even try making a recording to listen to! The power of your own voice creating your own reality can have profound shifts on the way you see yourself. I wish you much Love, Light, and Abundance.

Blessings of Peace,

John
